The Kelapa Gading Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit, North Jakarta is dredging the water channel on Jalan Pegangsaan Dua (east side).

Kelapa Gading Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head Citrin Indriati said it was conducted to anticipate flooding when rain poured the region. It had been ongoing since early March and was targeted to be complete by the end of March.
"It is done from the Pegangsaan Dua Red Light to Blue Bird Kelapa Gading Pool," she expressed, Monday (3/15).

"To do it we use the kisdam system, namely damming with mud sacks per 20 meters in order to get optimal results," she said.
From the channel, the personnel managed to pick up 3,400 sacks of mud. In total, the channel was dredged to 500 meters long with a u-ditch width of 80 centimeters and a sediment height reaching 30-60 centimeters.
"Thus far the work has touched 25 percent or along 125 centimeters," he told.
Therefore she hoped that the channel could accommodate water in large quantities thus the flood could be resolved properly.
