KPKP Agency Intensifies Fresh Food Inspection in 65 Locations

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency is set to hold a sudden inspection (sidak) against fresh food in five urban areas and Thousand Islands, which falls on March 16-31.

"We just want to make sure the fresh food in the market is safe for consumption and away from chemicals," she expressed, Tuesday (3/16).
She explained, sampling and testing were conducted on agricultural commodities such as rice, fruits and vegetables. As for fishery products, namely fresh fish, salted fish, and their processed products, as well as livestock products, namely beef, chicken meat, and chicken intestines.
"It will be done with the type of test for the content of pesticides, formaldehyde, coloring agents and freshness/eber tests with the rapid test method using a rapid test kit," she explained.
She added the action would get support from the Polda Metro Jaya's civil servant investigators (PPNS) in a bid to follow up on findings in the field.
"It will then be held routinely every month until December 2021," she asserted.
