Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma inaugurated maggot house at Reuse, Reduce, Recycle Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST 3R) in Rawasari Urban Village, Cempaka Putih.

He assessed that the maggot house is one of Central Jakarta's efforts to reduce 50 percent of emission gas from waste in 2030.

Manggot Cultivation Developed in Central Jakarta for Waste ReductionAccording to him, maggot house has a wide impact to the environment and people's economy, thus it can increase welfare level of the surrounding community. Until today, every sub-districts in Central Jakarta has owned one maggot house which managed by Sub-district Environmental Care Community Forum (Formapel).
He expects in the future every sub-districts can have more maggot houses, even in RWs throughout Central Jakarta.
"Imagine that one maggot house which built at TPST 3R Rawasari can reduce one ton of emission gas. With maggot houses in all urban villages, I am optimistic that we can reduce the emission by 50 percent as targeted in 2030," he stated.
