One Month, Collapsed Guardrail Repair in Layangan Park Completed

The progress of repairing this fence has been around 20 percent. It is targeted to be complete in a month ahead

The collapsed guardrail in the Layangan Park, Jalan Penganten Ali, Ciracas, East Jakarta is being repaired and it has been ongoing since a week ago.

East Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency Head, Christian Tamora Hutagalung stated, the guardrail collapsed up to 12 meters long after being hit by the floods. Unfortunately, the damage had spread to another fence and almost collapsed so the repairs needed to be done were up to 18 meters long.

"The guardrail belonging to local residents also collapsed due to being hit by a park fence that collapsed during the flood. Thus these two fences must be repaired at the same time to protect the park," he said, Monday (3/22).

Park Division Head Randi Putra added as many as 10 personnel had been deployed to conduct the repair.

As the initial stage, the first repair was focused on the residents' land guardrails and continued to the park guardrails. It was because the condition of the fence foundation was also eroded, so re-excavation had to be carried out for the installation of the foundation.

"The progress of repairing this fence has been around 20 percent. It is targeted to be complete in a month ahead," he stated.
