Opening Musrenbang 2021, Anies Instructs All Ranks to Optimize Budget to Meet Basic Needs of Citizens

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan officially opened Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang) 2021 at city/regency level which held virtually, Monday (3/29). In his remarks, he asked the ranks of Bappeda to create aspiration information system.

This information system is expected to make people know which aspirations are being worked on, and which aspirations need time for its realization. Thus public can monitor government's performance.

"People now become aware that it is impossible for everything to be done at the same time. Development needs time and priority, but it doesn't mean we don't inform," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.
He also emphasized that the current Musrenbang also discussed on how to realize priority programs which are the basic needs of the community. Where every proposals and aspirations in each cities/regency should be synchronized with provincial policies.
"I want to ensure that all promises (priority programs) must be carried out, because it is the commitment that as been recorded in RPJMD. It must be ensured to run well because it is the basic needs of community," he stated.
Furthermore, he also instructed all ranks to optimize the existing budget. Because economy in Jakarta has experienced a tremendous contraction due to pandemic and restrictions on activities that have been implemented to reduce COVID-19 transmission.
"Amid of pandemic, we experience an extraordinary economic contraction, so our priority is to optimize existing budget for common interest (especially to fulfill the basic needs). At the same time, we also need to prepare a stimulus to boost economy in order to provide benefits through taxes," he conveyed.
