Rawa Malang Embung Construction Has Touched 40 Percent

He explained the embung was built to minimize flooding when heavy rain poured the city.

"Our hope is it is able to accommodate rainwater in large quantities. After this, we intend to build a water channel that connects embung to the Palem connecting channel," he explained.

He was also conducting data collection to ascertain the location of the pump, data collection for the lowest channel and so forth.

He added the total land area in the area was 7,070 square meters, where 5,000 square meters would be made of embung and the rest would be built supporting facilities such as jogging tracks, futsal courts, etc. The embung itself would be dredged to 3.5 meters depth.

"Hopefully we can maximally overcome the flood issues in the area," he hoped.
