From 65 urban villages, so far 36 urban villages have participated in PSMJ
South Jakarta Acting Mayor, Isnawa Adji emphasized that his side is serious in handling used cooking oil waste from households. Because it can pollute the environment if it is not properly handled, such as disposing it to drain.
"We collaborate with RSK to optimize Kampung Tersenyum Program to handle used cooking oil in households by involving TP PKK cadres," he said, Tuesday (5/4).
West Jakarta Launches Keluarga Tersenyum ProgramHis side has cooperated with RSK to run Kampung Tersenyum Program and initiated Used Cooking Oil Alms Program (PSMJ) since 2019.
PSMJ, he continued, is not only done to protect environment but also to build a healthy, clean, and blessed family without reusing coo
king oil repeatedly."From 65 urban villages, so far 36 urban villages have participated in PSMJ. But not all RWs in 36 urban villages have participated in the program, thus there is still potential for environmental damage," he added.
Therefore, he emphasized that the collaboration can be also carried out to third parties, in this case is companies. He conveyed that every company has social responsibility for every product it makes.
"We shouldn't handle it after it becomes waste. But we need to ask for company's responsibility called Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Companies have budget, CSR and responsibility for the products they produce," he stated.
On the other hand, RSK Director, Suhito encouraged residents for not disposing used cooking oil carelessly. He asked residents to collect used cooking oil in Tong Sedekah located in the nearest RT.
"Hopefully our efforts can make South Jakarta residents to have a better life, related to health aspect. Because starting today, they must no longer using the used cooking oil," he asserted.
