City's Anniversary Declaration, Thousand Islands Determined to Revive Tourism Sector

The tourism sector is closely related to the economic sector in Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands Regent, Edi Junaedi along with his staff and local people, participated in the virtual ceremonial declaration of Jakarta's 494th anniversary from the tourist destination, Kampung Jepang on Sakura Beach, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.

Thousand Islands Regent, Junaedi said the tourist destination was chosen to carry a message and a desire to soon revive the tourism sector in Thousand Islands when the pandemic ends.

"The tourism sector is closely related to the economic sector in Thousand Islands. The tourism sector is one of the mainstays of livelihood for local people," he expressed, Monday (5/24).

On that occasion, Thousand Islands Regency Council, Robin expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the more progress in Thousand Islands which the residents immediately felt the benefits of.

"The need for clean water to electricity for locals is getting better fulfilled," he said.

In the meantime, Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan expressed, the Thousand Islands had experienced equality in fulfilling basic needs, the same as other Jakarta residents.

"Hopefully tourism can improve soon, the people are more prosperous and the Thousand Islands will become a unique area in Jakarta," he hoped.
