Repair on Retaining Wall and Embankment of Cipinang River in Kelapa Dua Wetan is Completed"The manhole cover was collapsed in March due to landslide. To repair it, we have involved 12 joint personnel of Water Resource (SDA) Task Force, PPSU and local residents," he expressed, Wednesday (6/16).
According to him, the landslide occurred as the water channel from the residents' house, which was right above the sheet pile, was not drained optimally. The channel pipe did not protrude into the channel below. Thus the water from the channels of the residents' houses fell into the sheet pile as high as 3.5 meters. As a result, the layer of soil inside the sheet pile eroded until it finally collapsed, including its sheet pile.
"There is a resident's house on top of the sheet pile. If it is ignored, it will cause landslide considering the sheet pile is getting eroded every day," he stated.
