As an effort to realize its region as a Corruption-Free Regional Integrity Zone (ZIWBK), South Jakarta Administration is going to install closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in five sub-district offices which will be directly connected with the mayor’s office. This effort is also conducted to press cheating action and boost professionalism of civil servants in serving the public.
It is expected there would be no more illegal levies and cheating practice in public service
“For the pilot project, CCTV installation is focused in integrated services of five sub-district offices. For the monitoring, there will be critics and suggestion box as well as customer satisfaction index. The CCTVs later will be connected with the mayor’s office,” uttered South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor, Wednesday (11/19).
According to Noor, the sub-district offices to be installed with CCTVs are Setiabudi, Kebayoran Lama, Kebayoran Baru, Pesanggrahan, and Cilandak. Thus, all units that provide direct services to the citizens must be fully responsible in running the ZIBWK. Those units are Population and Civil Registry Sub-Department, Building Control Sub-Department, Spatial Sub-Department, Tourism Sub-Department, and Satpol PP.
