Littering Carelessly, ID Card Revoked

As much as 178 Illegal landfills (TPS) along Ciliwung River will be removed by Jakarta Provincial Government. To keep Ciliwung clean, City Government will also gives severe sanction to people who litter, and educate the people to maintain the cleanliness.

If citizen still do littering after warning and socialization, we will revoke their ID

Saefullah, Jakarta Secretary (Sekda) said, besides controlling the TPS, his side will hold socialization to change citizen behavior in littering. The citizen's ID card will be revoked if they still carelessly littering.

"There are 178 points of illegal TPS at Ciliwung located in East Jakarta and South Jakarta. If citizen still do littering after warning and socialization, we will revoke their ID," said Saefullah at City Hall, Monday (11/24).

He mentioned, there are 2 regional bill (Perda) prepared to punish citizen. Those are Perda No 8/2007 about Public Order, and Perda No 3/2013 about Trash Handling.

Perda No 3/2013 about trash handling detailed, the citizen will be sanctioned Rp 500 thousand if do litter, While agency could reach Rp 50 million.

According to him, the TPS control will be done with solution. Jakarta Health Dept, will be asked to prepare dump truck or find new land and provide new TPS," he said.
