Thousand Islands Keeps Accelerating Vaccination for Recovery of Tourism Activities

This sweeping is important, thus they can return to normal life as before

Thousand Islands Regent Junaedi, encouraged his residents to collaborate in accelerating the achievement of Covid-19 vaccination in order to reach herd immunity thus tourism activities as one of the main contributions to the local economy can return to normal.

He instructed urban village and sub-district apparatuses to conduct sweeping on people who have yet to get the first dose, including those who had got the first dose to come to the nearest vaccination centers for the second dose on schedule.

"This sweeping is important, thus they can return to normal life as before. That means, vaccination will keep being intensified and accelerated for herd immunity," he expressed, after giving a speech on the sidelines of social aid distribution in Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands, Wednesday (8/18).

With the achievement of vaccination reaching 89.69 percent of the total 22,298 targeted people, he hoped that the second dose, which currently only reaches 44.89 percent, could also be achieved in September.

"Hopefully our hope can be achieved soon, thus tourism activities and the economy will resume running," he hoped.
