e-Money Applies for KJP Disbursement

To simplify the use of KJP (Jakarta Smart Card), it will be disbursed into Electronic Money (e-Money). With this system, students just need to debit their KJP wherever they need to buy school purpose rather than finding ATM to get cash as before.

It's the principal of investment. We have to start it from the beginning

"The student can not take the cash of KJP starting next year. Later, ADC machine in every school will be prepared. The student uses the card when they eat in the canteen. It also applied when they use Transjakarta bus. And for school purposes as book, uniform, bag and shoes, please buy it in Jakarta Book fair event every year," said Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Jakarta Governor at City Hall, Wednesday (11/26).

He added, e-Money application in KJP aims to educate student about the importance of saving. However, KJP still can be used for students needs.

KJP's Levy, Disdik to Take Firm Action

"Today's money is more valuable than tomorrow. It's the principal of investment. We have to start it from the beginning," Basuki added.

Basuki expected the e-Money method will maintain student's saving behavior from childhood until adult. Similar method will be applied to street vendors and low-cost flat.

"Transportation bus service will also use e-Money. It will ease us providing new route based on e-Money user data," Basuki enclosed.
