Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, inaugurated the declaration of the Simpang Temu (Transport Hub) Dukuh Atas development located on the former land of the Blora Market, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
We expect a new atmosphere change
It is a collaboration of PT MRT Jakarta, Perumda Pasar Jaya, PT Pembangunan Perumahan and other stakeholders.
The Governor said that the Simpang Temu is one of the facilities built in the Dukuh Atas Transit Oriented Area (K
BT), while the naming 'Simpang Temu' is a symbol of the meeting place of many Transportation modes. JakLingko Integrated Transportation Card and Application will Be Launched in Early 2022"We hope it will reflect a future orientation as a trigger for urban regeneration, thus Jakarta is in line with other big cities in the world and as the embodiment of a liveable city. This point in Dukuh Atas area is the first area, where we begin development with a transit-oriented concept," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Wednesday (10/13).
The design of the Simpang Temu Dukuh Atas is the result of a competition in which the work is oriented towards pedestrians, bike users, and public open spaces for activities. Moreover, it could be a momentum for changes in Jakarta's transportation system, from Car Oriented to Public Transport Oriented.
"We expect a new atmosphere change, where the construction of Simpang Temu which consists of 2 basements and 11 floors, has a mixed use function. In this case, let's we say offices, retail and transit plazas in the form of drop-on/-off Transjakarta and Ojek Online, as well as plans for the next stage to be connected to KCI Sudirman Station," he added.
By using an integrated public transportation approach, he hoped, Jakarta residents would have easy access to transportation in terms of facilities and costs.
"So, the city can be more environmentally friendly because pollution is reduced. We also see that public facilities are optimally used, and families in Jakarta whose mobilization is lower. That is a concept that is being implemented today, and this afternoon we are witnessing the declaration of the Simpang Temu which hopefully will be completed on schedule," he concluded.
As for the information, the execution process is planned in October 2021 and is targeted for completion in April 2023. Simpang Temu Dukuh Atas will be built on a 3,129-square-meter land based on the land certificate for the construction of approximately 2,445 square meters on Perumda Pasar Jaya land. Then, PT MRT Jakarta will execute a land lease scheme.
