Governor Anies Hopes for Best Results for Jakarta Contingent at 2021 PeparnasHe also congratulated the Betawi BAMUS Customary Council, and advised that in the future they will play a very important role in the development of Betawi culture, especially after the pandemic where community interactions will undergo many changes.
"That's why being a member of the Customary Council is a big mandate," he stated.
"And we must give greater opportunities for cultural development, especially in the post-pandemic period where we can restart, as the format of interaction changes while we know our culture is the result of interaction and Jakarta is the most complex city and is the home of the Betawian people," he continued.
He also gave another appreciation to Betawian people as a facilitator for the growth of Indonesia, and creating an ecosystem for people from all over Indonesia to unite.
"In Jakarta, there is a host who is the node of unity and that is the Betawi people. They create an ecosystem for all the children of the nation to unite, they are facilitators who contribute greatly to Indonesia, therefore this node must be maintained," he said.
The honorary title of the Betawi figure is a form of respect for the figures who have contributed to the progress of the Betawi customary law community and the civilization of Jakarta as stipulated in Bylaw number 4/2015 on Betawi Bamus.
