East Jakarta Deploys Two Pump Cars to Clean Mud After Flood

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency deployed two pump cars to handle post-flood mud on Tuesday (11/2).

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Fire Control and Rescue Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman said, two pump cars with capacity 2,500 liters and one floating pump were deployed to spray post-flood mud on Jl. Nurul Iman RW 04 Cipinang Melayu, Makasar and Jl. Pelita RT 05/12 Lubang Buaya, Cipayung.

"We have deployed 2 pump cars with capacity 2,500 liters and 10 personnel to help residents affected by yesterday's flood," he mentioned.

Cipinang Melayu Residents Return Home as Floods Recede

Moreover, his side also drained inundation in RT 15/07 settlement, Pondok Bambu Urban Village, Duren Sawit. The 30-centimeter inundation was drained using pump car with capacity 2,500 liters and floating pump. There were four personnel who help draining the flood in Pondok Bambu.

Pondok Bambu Urban Village Head, Asianti Yasmuarsih conveyed, inundation occurred due to high rainfall. The settlement is located near H. Dogol Retention Basin (Embung) and in basin area thus it takes long time to recede. Therefore her side asked for Gulkarmat assistance to drain the flood water thus it quickly receded.

"We have tried to handle it thus it recedes quickly, even involving Gulkarmat Sub-agency to drain the flood water into H. Dogol Retention Basin," she explained.

Before asking Gulkarmat assistance, her side deployed PPSU personnel to make holes thus inundation could recede quickly. It was done in accordance with advice of Duren Sawit Sub-district SDA Unit Head.
