Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan inaugurated the name of Jalan Laksamana Malahayati as a replacement for Jalan Inspeksi Kalimalang Sisi Sebelah Utara, East Jakarta, at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (11/23). The inauguration was attended virtually by Aceh Community Association Chairperson, Surya Dharma and Aceh Governor, Nova Iriansyah.

Anies said the inauguration of the road name was a form of highest respect and appreciation from Jakarta Government to National Hero, Laksamana Malahayati, her family, and Aceh people in general.
"People of Aceh have an important role in the long history of Indonesian independence. Aceh has given birth to many heroes who are known at national level, such as Teungku Umar, Sultan Iskandar Muda, Teuku Chik di Tiro, Cut Nyak Dhien, Cut Nyak Meutia, Teuku Nyak Arif, and Teuku Muhammad Hasan," he stated as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

For information, the change in name of the road was mentioned on Governor's Decree No. 1242/2021 on Determination of Jalan Laksamana Malahayati to replace Jalan Inspeksi Kalimalang Sisi Sebelah Utara. Jalan Laksamana Malahayati has length of approximately 7.6 kilomeers that crosses Pondok Kelapa Urban Village, Duren Sawit Urban Village, Pondok Bambu Urban Village, Cipinang Muara Urban Village, Cipinang Besar Selatan Urban Village of Jatinegara Sub-district, East Jakarta.
This road is one of entrances from East Jakarta to Bekasi City/Regency or vice versa. Currently, there are 5 signposts with name of Jalan Laksamana Malahayati installed on the road side.
