Urban Farming Program Keeps Being Intensified in Central Jakarta

The Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency continues to intensify urban farming program. That is by holding a webinar with theme "A Minimalist System Delivers Maximum Results".
It can even be used as a source of income

Based on research results, he disclosed, urban farming at various scales was able to support three dimensions of food security, namely food availability, access, and utilization. He hoped, with urban farming, people could reduce their dependence on vegetable distribution from outside Jakarta area.
"By so, we are able to produce a number of vegetables for local market and are able to contribute to maintaining food stability. It can even be used as a source of income," he expressed, Monday (12/13).
He hoped, what was conveyed by the speakers in the webinar could be useful for participants to be applied in their respective neighborhoods and homes.
Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Penty Yunesi Pujiastuti added, there were 212 participants consisting of urban farming activists, green belt caretakers, PKK and dasawisma cadres.
"Their enthusiasm is quite high and even exceeds the target of 200 participants. There's even one from Surabaya," she said.
The event this time presented two speakers who had managed to implement urban farming, namely Irfan Imaduddin, Urban Farming Officer for PT East West Seed Indonesia/Panah Merah with the material, Optimization of Limited Lands with Future Agriculture. There was also Serda Triyono, Ba Denkomplek Paspampres with material, Utilization of Building Rooftops as Productive Land.
