Vice Governor Ariza Hopes Collaboration for Booster Program Can Reach All Residents

The Jakarta administration has been intensifying a Covid-19 booster shot or third dose program since January 12 following the Central Government's policy.

To boost it, the administration has involved various parties to roll out booster shots for the community. Including PAM Jaya, they take part by holding a Booster Vaccination Center for the public in collaboration with the Defense University and National Army (TNI) Health Services.

On that occasion, Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria took his time to directly monitor the vaccination centers in Jakarta. He was accompanied by PAM Jaya Director, Syamsul Bachri Yusuf, at PAM Jaya Center Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (2/9).

The vice governor asserted the booster program was indeed for Jakarta and non-Jakarta residents. He hoped the acceleration of booster shots in Jakarta could touch the entire community.

"We checked everything and it went smoothly, for the residents and PAM employees. We also saw residents from Bogor who came. We hope that PAM Jaya can assist us in accelerating the provision of boosters for all residents," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

The booster program is a joint effort in anticipating and protecting oneself during a pandemic, especially the Omicron coronavirus variant.

"This is a humanitarian activity that we must support and help. This is our effort to suppress the spread of Covid-19 and is a form of support for the administration's hard work so far in curbing the pandemic in Jakarta amid spike cases," he added.

Currently, the transmission of the Omicron variant is faster than the Delta variant. That is why, it is very important to achieve the achievement of doses 2 and booster, especially for the elderly and people with comorbidities.

"We appreciate the efforts made by PAM Jaya, which can be said as a form of social responsibility towards the welfare of the public who have been loyal customers," he explained.

To intensify the booster program, his party was ready to cooperate and collaborate with various parties in containing the Covid-19.

"Besides the vaccination, it must be balanced with discipline in the implementation of health protocols and healthy lifestyles. Let's get booster shots and stay disciplined in implementing health protocols," he closed.

On the same occasion, PAM Jaya Director, Syamsul Bachri Yusuf explained that the booster shots held by PAM Jaya are open for three days ahead with 2,000 targeted people.

"In a day, we're targeting around 700 people for booster. We also serve non-Jakarta people and they can register via JAKI application," he stated.
