2,374 Reading Books Distributed to Reading Corners in Central Jakarta

The Central Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-agency has distributed 2,374 copies of new reading books to 12 reading corner locations in Central Jakarta from January to March, which aims to support children's reading activities.

This is done to follow up on the community's proposals through the urban village

Central Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-agency Head Irwan Septinadi said the 2,374 copies or 1,343 titles of reading books were to fill in children's books that were not yet available in early childhood education schools (PAUD) in RWs and reading parks (TMB).

"This is done to follow up on the community's proposals through the urban village," he expressed.

3,800 Books Being Distributed to 38 Reading Locations in North Jakarta

He detailed those 2,374 copies were distributed to PAUD RW 05 (Kartini Urban Village); RW 02 (Pasar Baru Urban Village); RW 09 (Gunung Sahari Selatan Urban Village); RW 05 (Karet Tengsin Urban Village); RW 01 (Karang Anyar Urban Village); RW 04 (Cempaka Putih Barat Urban Village); RW 01 (Rawasari Urban Village); and RW 07 (Tanah Tinggi Urban Village) with a total of 91 copies each.

As for 91 copies were distributed at TBM RW 03, Cempaka Putih Timur; 100 copies in RW 01, Cideng; 1,255 copies in Jati Rawasari Rusunawa; and 200 copies in SKKT Galur 07.

He hoped that children's reading activity could continue to increase the interest of the community in participating in the Ringkas Aksara Family Initiative (IKRA) program.

For the administrators, he asked them to care for the books and organize them properly on the bookshelf.

"We send them (copies) quickly considering most PAUDs have implemented face-to-face learning (PTM)" he stated.
