Jakarta Prepares Free Homecoming Program for its Residents

Good news from the Jakarta Government which will launch the free homecoming program for Jakartans who want to get home for this year's Eid al-Fitr celebration. It is in line with the increasingly controlled cases of COVID-19 and the easing of travel rules from the central government.

We are still coordinating the departure points with the central government

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head Syafrin Liputo conveyed that as many as 292 buses would be alerted for the homecoming and 200 other buses for the returning flow to Jakarta.

It would also be seconded with 31 trucks to transport two-wheeled vehicles for the homecomers, with details of 22 trucks when departing and 9 trucks when returning to Jakarta.

"We are now in the stage of selecting providers of goods and services. First is the bus operator, then the truck for transporting motorbikes. We are preparing the prerequisites and it will be in line with regulations from the central government," he stated, Tuesday (4/5).

He explained that the prepared fleets would take the homecomers to their destination cities in Sumatera and Java islands.

"We are still coordinating the departure points with the central government, whether at the terminal or other points. As well as the day of departure and return," he stated.
