PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) keeps upgrading its services for the convenience of Transjakarta bus users. One of the plans to be realized next year is building toilet facilities in Transjakarta bus stops.
We will widen narrow bus stops and equip them with toilets. We want the passengers to feel more comfortable
“We will widen narrow bus stops and equip them with toilets. We want the passengers to feel more comfortable,” stated PT Transjakarta President Director, Antonius S Kosasih, Friday (12/12).
Kosasih admitted that existing Transjakarta bus stops do not provide enough comfort for the passengers. Besides not having toilets, current bus stops are also old and narrow, thus causing the air not circulating well.
UP Transjakarta Prepares for Disbandment“Those bus stops imitated the concept of Transjakarta bus stops in Bogota, Colombia. Since it is cold there, narrow bus stop is not a problem. But in here, it does not match with our weather,” he explained.
According to Kosasih, several Transjakarta bus stops that have been renovated are Karet Tengsin, Polda Metro Jaya, and Juanda.
“Starting January 1, 2015, all of those assets will be managed by us,” he told.
Regarding Transjakarta bus tariff, Kosasih stressed that until now his party has no plan to raise it from currently Rp 3,500 per passenger. This is because Jakarta Provincial Government has given subsidy through Public Service Obligation (PSO) to PT Transjakarta for as much as Rp 3,230 per passenger.
“If there was no PSO, the tariff charged to passenger would be Rp 7,500. Until now, the tariff is still Rp 3,500 per passenger,” he asserted.
