Infrastructure Repair in Jakarta Accelerated

Ahead of New Year, the infrastructure repair in the capital will be accelerated. Besides repairing damaged roads, the maintenance and repair are also planned to be carried out in several flyovers and Non-Toll Road Flyovers (JLNT).

Head of Road and Bridge Maintenance Section, Jakarta Public Works Department, Juaini Yusuf disclosed several flyovers and JLNTs will be repaired. "The damage is vary, ranging from cracks and holes. Its physical repair will use hotmix and speedcrete methods," he told, Monday (12/15).

He disclosed, until now, his party is still repairing flyovers and JLNTs at some points. Among them are Saharjo flyover, Tebet flyover, KS Tubun Tanah Abang flyover, Sudirman flyover, and Casablanca-Kampung Melayu JLNT. "The repair itself is targeted to be done at the end of this year," he expressed.

According to him, the resistance of the flyover and JLNT's lane depends on the scale of passing vehicles per day. In addition, it also caused by the age-old layer that has been aged over five years. "What we are working on KS Tubun flyover, Saharjo, is its hotmix that already aged over five years. Its layer already loose and rough. So we re-asphalt it," he explained.

Besides asphalting, old elements on the bridge are also replaced, that is by re-installing relling and carpet layer of the bridge.

"If the carpet and its relling dislodged, we will re-tide it," he exclaimed.

Yusuf furthered this year, the damaged bridges around citizen residential would be repaired. But it is different with flyover, bridge repair is compliance with local reports.

"For instance, we repair the Kali Bencong Bridge in Kampung Melayu and then continued with painting," he cited.
