Thus far, few efforts have been taken to prevent the spread of this disease, among others, by conducting active surveillance through health centers and hospitals to quickly detect and report suspected cases of acute hepatitis.
Then by conducting an epidemiological investigation to curb the transmission of this disease.
Along with that, health promotion was also being intesified to educate the public regarding the prevention of acute hepatitis. That is diligently washing hands with soap, making sure food is cooked and clean, and not sharing eating utensils with other people.
"We also urge residents to avoid contact with sick people, keep their homes clean, and implement health protocols," he explained.
The health promotion also conducted in schools through counseling to students.
"We also check students' snacks and monitor them regarding the symptoms of acute hepatitis," he furthered.
He added that the initial symptoms of acute hepatitis were nausea, vomiting, severe diarrhea, and low-grade fever.
Then urine looks thick like tea, poop looks pale white, yellowing of the eyes and skin, seizures, and decreased consciousness.
"Those with these symptoms should not attend school. We also ask the teacher to report to the nearest health center," he stated.
