Setu Babakan PBB will Have Lodging

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps upgrading and adding
facilities in Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village (PBB), Jagakarsa, South
Jakarta, to attract the interest of local and foreign tourists visiting the
site. Even, zones development also being prioritized in an effort to provide
comfort to the visitors.
Zone A for museum, multipurpose building, gallery, and library are already in progress. There would also be a youth hostel with a capacity of 30-40 people
Besides theater and culinary center, the PBB proprietor also
plans to provide lodging for visitors. It is as supporting facilities for
visitors who want to know about Betawi culture intensively.

Sutisna, Wednesday (12/17).
He continued, lodging for a family tour will be built in
zone C. Bungalows with Betawi tempo dulu or old nuance setting could make the
situation comfortable for family holiday.
"A Betawi City replica will be made in Zone C. There
will be no Betawi mascot block, and 1 block would have an homestay with old
nuance," he told.
To realize the plan, he told, his side still has obstacles,
particularly land acquisition. In zone A, there are approximately 1,500 square meters
of land that is still being acquired. "There are 1,500-2,000 square meters
of land which has not been released to the office and operational space,"
he stated.
Head of Program and Budget Sub-Division, Jakarta Tourism and
Culture Department, Asep Abdul Hamid uttered Setu Babakan PBB will become an
icon of Betawi Culture.
"Initially we wanted to apply it in Condet, but it was
stopped due to other buildings have been relocated in Setu Babakan after Setu
Babakan Festival held in the nineties. For Zone C, there has been no
development, but it has been planned in Zone A and scheduled to be completed
next year," he expressed, while attending the Setu Babakan Festival some
time ago.
Setu Babakan would become Betawi cultural heritage. When
Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo served as Jakarta Governor, he allocated Rp 26 billion to
revitalize and develop zones.
