235 Families Affected by Gembrong Market Fire Choose to Stay Temporarily in Public Housing

As of Wednesday (18/5), a total of 235 families or 730 residents affected by the fire that occurred in the Gembrong Market area RW 01, Cipinang Besar Utara (CBU) Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, agreed to live temporarily in public housing (rusun).

Those who agreed to move were mostly because their houses were so badly damaged that they couldn't be occupied

Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village Head Evi Erawati mentioned that their enthusiasm was quite high considering only 90 families agreed to live in public housing on Wednesday (5/11).

Her side continued to coordinate with local RT/RW administrators to collect data on residents who will move to public housing for a temporary period. Her side estimated there would be an increase in the number of residents who agreed to move to public housing because the data collection process is still ongoing.
