Non-cash Payment System is Believed would Prevent Deviation

Non-cash payment or autodebet system to pay retribution is believed would prevent mafia activity in Marunda Flat and also help flat management in collecting and monitoring retribution. This payment system will be using Jak-Card made by DKI Bank that also designed the card multifunction, thus flat occupants can use it as ATM card as well.

Good, the card will help flat management to reduce the risk of cash payment system

“Good, the card will help flat management to reduce the risk of cash payment system. So, with this non-cash payment system, I think it’s safe. Our officers are also safe, rather than them collecting (retribution),” said Head of Jakarta Housing and Government’s Building Department, Yonathan Pasodung, Wednesday (17/12).

According to Pasodung, this non-cash payment system using Jak-Card in Marunda Flat is applied as pilot project. Later, this system will be applied in all flats in the capital city.

“This service is great to help flat management securing the money. Moreover, flat units also become cannot be handed over to anyone else because the cards are only given to flat occupants who have Jakarta ID-card (KTP) and Letter of Occupancy Agreement (SPP). But before a card is issued, we’ll validate it first,” he stated.

At this time, Marunda Flat is occupied by about 9,000 people living in cluster A, B, and C. These thousands of flat occupants are charged with flat retribution tariff in various amounts according to their flat unit’s size and level.

“The retribution tariff is varied. The residents included in relocation program are located on the fifth floor and they are charged for Rp 156 thousand per month. The most expensive tariff is on the bottom floor, could reach Rp 245 thousand per month,” uttered Pasodung.
