IRTI Monas Field Filled with Motorcycles

The implementation of motorcycle ban starting from HI Roundabout until Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat makes some parking spots along the area are filled with motorcycles, Wednesday (12/17). One of those parking spots is located at IRTI Monas field.

We reduced the parking lot for cars, thus the land could accommodate 5,000 motorcycles

Since morning, IRTI Monas field was already filled with motorcycles. In normal days, usually there were only 750 motorcycles parked there. But yesterday, the number increased significantly to 1,500 motorcycles.

“The motorcycles parked here increase significantly compared to regular days. We have prepared a quite large land. We reduced the parking lot for cars, thus the land could accommodate 5,000 motorcycles,” uttered IRTI Monas Parking Lot Coordinator for Jakarta Transportation Department Parking Technical Management Unit (UPT), Mulyadi.

Motorcycle Ban Applied, 5 Double-Decker Buses Yet Operated

Although the amount of motorcycles parked at IRTI Monas field increases significantly, Mulyadi told that his party does not raise the parking tariff. Each motorcycle is charged for Rp 1,000 per hour without time limit.

“There is no parking tariff increase. Likewise with the parking attendants, still 15 men because it is considered sufficient,” he said.
