The West Jakarta Government has declared Petak Enam on Jalan Glodok, Glodok Taman Sari as a location for Jakarta Hajatan, a series of events for celebrating Jakarta's 495th Anniversary.

West Jakarta Mayor Yani Wahyu Purwoko conveyed that his side chose Petak Enam as the location for Jakarta Hajatan because it has historical value.
"We want to convey a message to Jakarta people that Petak Enam cannot be separated from Kota Tua," he stated, Tuesday (5/24).
He mentioned that Petak Enam had been a center of trade, economy, and government for hundreds of years. It also has various potentials for historical, culinary, cultural, and religious tourism.
"Petak Enam has ancient buildings and places of worship that are more than 300 years old," he informed.
