Junaedi Leads Sea and Beach Cleanup on Tidung Island

Thousand Islands Regent Junaedi led the sea and beach cleaning activity on Tidung Island, South Thousand Islands on Wednesday (6/8).
This activity is one of our efforts to realize Thousand Islands beach as a clean, comfortable, and beautiful tourist attraction
This activity was held in collaboration between Thousand Islands Regency, Smoke-Free Jakarta (SFJ), and Greenpeace to enliven Jakarta's 495th Anniversary as well as to commemorate World No Tobacco Day and World Ocean Day.
According to him, the sea and beach cleaning activity and #PantaiTanpaRokok (smoke-free beach) campaign were one of Jakarta's efforts to create a more comfortable, clean, and healthy beach.

There were 50 volunteers involved in this activity and most of them were Tidung Island residents. They collected plastic waste and household waste scattered along the beach.
Moreover, dozens of divers took a part in this cleaning activity by collecting garbage floating in the sea around Tidung Island.
Meanwhile, Smoke-Free Jakarta (SFJ) Coordinator Dollaris Riauaty stated that the cleaning activity and #PantaiTanpaRokok campaign showed that the Jakarta Government, from urban villages to city/regency levels, was very serious to realize a clean and healthy environment.
"This activity also shows that Thousand Islands is a highly recommended tourist spot to visit," she stated.
