Sacrificial Animals Monitoring Checkpoint Operates in Kalimalang

Sacrificial animals monitoring checkpoint that had been built on Jalan Inspeksi Kalimalang, Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta began to operate on Tuesday (6/7) night. The post is under the management of the Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP).

At this checkpoint, sacrificial animals that entered Jakarta would be checked whether they had an animal health certificate (SKKH) or not. After that, every sacrificial animal that entered Jakarta should be quarantined or isolated for 14 days before being sold to the public.

"This is to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in Jakarta," he asserted, Wednesday (6/7).

Until last night, his side had not found any vehicles from the outside region that entered Jakarta carrying sacrificial animals.

"Monitoring will continue until Eid al-Adha," he said.
