The Betawi Association (Bamus Betawi) appreciates several of Jakarta's 495th Anniversary events initiated by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. The events, which involve all parties, are deemed capable of fixing the economy of Jakarta.

Betawi Bamus Chairman Riano Purwonegoro Ahmad said those events were very impressive for the people of Jakarta as the last two years had to be held virtual due to the pandemic.

"The event like this is an effort to improve the economic sector considering the pandemic has started to be under control," he expressed, Friday (6/24).

According to him, those events included the Jakarta Fair at JIExpo Kemayoran (Central Jakarta); Formula E at Ancol; the bazaar during Car Free Day (CFD); and the peak night of the Jakarta's anniversary at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) that will be held on Saturday (6/6).

He explained the theme of Jakarta's anniversary this time was very appropriate considering it reflected the current situation and conditions.

"The themes taken are collaboration, acceleration, and elevation. The use of collaborative diction means that Jakarta was built by involving all parties thus the government does not work alone," he explained.

While the term acceleration, local governments continue to issue various policies to accelerate progress in the capital city. Then in terms of elevation, Jakarta is expected to go up in class by gaining international recognition, one of the ways is through the Formula E car race which was held on June 4, 2022.

"So, in my opinion, the use of collaborative diction, acceleration, and elevation is common and easy to understand," he stated.
