On that occasion, the Governor appreciated
residents' solidarity in carrying out a community cleanup, in which all elements involved in cleaning the neighborhood. Starting from cleaning sewers, managing used cooking oil waste, managing waste through waste bank for young people, and making murals to beautify the environment."We visit residents who carry out a community cleanup. There are several aspects that we appreciate. First, regarding the cleanliness itself, how is our responsibility that environmental cleanliness really depends on us," he said, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

"Second, the community cleanup creates interaction between residents. As we all know, Jakarta and its busyness cause limited space for interaction, thus a community cleanup is a good opportunity to maintain relationship with other residents and hopefully they can get along together," he explained.
Therefore, he expected today's activity could be long term and attract more participants. It was targeted to be a medium for campaigning waste reduction, sorting, and processing.
"I hope people become more aware to start reducing, sorting, and processing waste. They have started it now. Hopefully, it can be even better," he hoped.
