South Jakarta KPKP Examines 4,136 Sacrificial Animals in 10 Sub-districts

Ahead of Eid al-Adha, the South Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency has examined the health of 4,136 sacrificial animals.

We have checked animals health, age, and make sure they are not disabled

South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head Hasudungan A. Sidabalok stated that his side had mobilized special teams to check the health of sacrificial animals in 10 sub-districts.

"Our teams have visited a total of 43 sacrificial animals shelters (TPnHK) in 10 sub-districts to carry out animal health checks," he explained, Tuesday (6/28).

So far, as many as 4,136 sacrificial animals had been examined. They were 1,897 goats, 1,672 cows, 609 sheep, and 32 buffalo in 43 sacrificial animals shelter throughout South Jakarta.

"Thousands of sacrificial animals have met the established requirements. We have checked animals' health, and age, as well as made sure they are not disabled. Thank God, we haven't found any Foot Mouth Disease (FMD) cases," she said.

Moreover, her side also implemented a quarantine cage system for sacrificial animals that came from outside South Jakarta to ensure the sacrificial animals were in good health.

"Sacrificial animals that enter South Jakarta must have animal inspection certificate from the area of origin. They must undergo a quarantine process for several days before being put into a shelter," she closed.
