Balkot Farm Mini Bazaar at Jakarta City Hall Reaps Profit by Rp 11.6 Million

The Balkot Farm Mini Bazaar which has been held five times at Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, posted a turnover of Rp 11.6 million.

"Balkot Farm Mini Bazaar is a means for urban farming activists to sell their harvests and processed products," expressed Urban Agriculture for Agriculture Sub-coordinator Taufik Yulianto, Monday (7/4).

Besides maintaining food security and reforesting the environment, it could bring income despite it being carried out on limited land.

Urban Farming Balkot Farm Coordinator Latifah detailed that the income in the bazaar on June 3, 2022, was Rp 1,210,000.

"This is a routine agenda every Friday. Alhamdulillah, our harvests and processed products that are sold are quite attractive to buyers," she stated.

Apart from fresh vegetables, the bazaar also sells salads, gotu kola chips, spinach chips, and fried onions.

"There are also kale juice, turmeric tamarind, beras kencur (mixed rice and herbal ice tea), kembang telang (bluebellvine) tea, soursop tea, moringa tea, and andelem tea. The price is very affordable," she stated.
