3,648 Residents of Seribu Islands Receive Food Subsidy Program

The Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) has said that as many as 3,648 residents in nine residential islands receive subsidized low-cost food package programs. The program has been ongoing from today until July 28, 2022.

Hope it can lighten the residents' burden to meet their daily needs

Food Security Division Head Parsan said the low-cost food package is the Jakarta administration's program to meet the food security of the people in Seribu Islands. The target is KJP holders, Dasawisma, PPSU members, and PJLPs with the Jakarta provincial minimum wage (UMP).

"Today, our target is Kelapa Island Urban Village. It aims to reduce the stunting rate," he expressed, Thursday (7/28).

He explained that there were about 20,271 packages distributed in July 2022, consisting of 3,624 packages of chicken meat, 3,524 packages of beef, 3,648 packages of chicken eggs, 3,639 packages of rice, 3,191 packages of fish, and 2,745 packages of milk.

Of those packages, Untung Jawa Island received 528 packages, Lancang Island received 393 packages, Pari Island received 234 packages, Pramuka Island received 378 packages, Panggang Island received 704 packages.

Then Harapan Island received 338 packages, Sabira Island received 146 packages, Kelapa Dua Island received 104 packages, and Kelapa Island received 823 packages.

The commodities distributed in the subsidized food program include five kilograms of premium rice which sells for Rp 30,000, one kilogram of beef for Rp 35,000, and one chicken for Rp 8,000.

While for one kilogram of mackerel for Rp 13,000, a box of UHT milk containing 24 pieces for Rp 30,000, and a tray of chicken eggs for Rp 10,000. Overall, the normal price for one food package in the market is Rp 372,800.

"Hope it can lighten the residents' burden to meet their daily needs. They only spend around Rp 126,000," he stated.
