The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) supports the development of a drinking water system (SPAM) in Jakarta, which aims to achieve the service target of up to 100 percent of the population by 2030.
I'm sure PAM will be able to run it well
Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) faction head Gembong Warsono said the contract between PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (PALYJA) and PT Aetra Air Jakarta will expire in February 2023. With the operational transition period leading up to the release of these two private partners, PAM Jaya was able to run SPAM better.
"If they (Jakarta administration) have the will to take over this service, I'm sure PAM will be able to run it well. In the future, drinking water services to the community will be even better through PAM through this development," he said, Tuesday (8/9).
PAM Jaya to Make Jakarta's Tap Water Drinkable in 2023He hoped that PAM Jaya's 100 percent service could be realized thus residents could get a better supply of clean water. His party would provide full support for local capital participation (PMD) to PAM Jaya.
"If it is true that the administration took over it through PAM Jaya, we just have to support it by providing full PMD for better management and services," he expressed.
The same statement also came out from Commission C Member Wibi Andrino who is also a member of the Special Committee for Drinking Water Management. He assessed that piped drinking water services have a domino effect, starting with the environment and the health of residents.
"We prompt PAM Jaya to meet the target of 100 percent of SPAM development by 2030. We also plan to monitor the development process and ensure that residents can access clean water," he concluded.
