FKDM Head: Independence Day is a Momentum to Strengthen Nationalism

Indonesian people will commemorate Indonesia's 77th Independence Day with big and festive celebrations tomorrow, precisely on August 17, 2022.

I want the spirit of nationalism and love for the homeland always in our heart

Jakarta Early Awareness Society Forum (FKDM) Chairman Munir Arsyad said the 77th Independence Day celebration should be used as a momentum to inflame the spirit of nationalism.

"I want the spirit of nationalism and love for the homeland always in our heart, especially our young generation," he expressed, Tuesday (8/16).

He explained that it was very important to instill a sense of nationalism from early amid globalization and current developments.

"Don't let technological developments, such as gadgets, make our generation forget about its predecessors who fought for independence," he explained.

He assessed that various competitions in the villages which also involve children need to be appreciated.

"Of course, it can be an educational tool to them," he assessed.

Therefore, all members of the FKDM in Jakarta were ready to celebrate Indonesia's Independence Day, including being involved in installing flags in their respective neighborhoods.

"We have more than 3,000 members in five regions and Seribu Islands. So, let's revive the spirit of nationalism," he stated.
