Monas Area is Closed Today and Will Reopen Tomorrow

For the smooth running of the Kirab Bendera activity at the State Palace, the National Monument (Monas) area, Gambir, Central Jakarta is temporarily closed to the public today.

While its monument is still closed tomorrow, it will reopen on Friday (8/18) at  8 AM

Monas Area Management Unit Head Muhammad Isa Sanuri said the Monas area will reopen on August 17, 2022, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

"While its monument is still closed tomorrow, it will reopen on Friday (8/18) at  8 AM," he expressed, Tuesday (8/16).

Previously, the cleanup action was carried out in the Monas area on Monday (8/15) to support the ceremony of Indonesia's 77th Independence Day.

It was led by City Secretary Marullah Matali and involved thousands of personnel from various regional apparatus organizations (OPD), such as the Water Resources Agency (SDA), Bina Marga Agency, Parks and City Forest Agency, Environment Agency, Fire and Rescue Agency, Satpol PP, and PPSU.

"Cleanup action is to ensure the Monas area remains clean during the ceremony," he closed.
