Legislators Appreciate Acting Governor's Performance

The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) legislators, appreciated Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono's performance in dealing with congestion and flooding over the past two weeks.

I believe he is now able to overcome the problems in Jakarta and is willing to serve the community

Jakarta DPRD Vice Chairman, Khoirudin praised Heru's steps in developing synergy by meeting the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) to discuss the normalization of the Ciliwung River in a bid to overcome flooding. They also met the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to discuss the comprehensive integration of transportation modes and mass transportation to overcome congestion.

"I believe he is now able to overcome the problems in Jakarta and is willing to serve the community," he said, Tuesday (11/1).

Bapemperda Chairman who is also a member of Jakarta DPRD Commission D, Pantas Nainggolan revealed that he has always supported efforts to reduce flooding and congestion problems. He assessed the legislators as supervisors would carry out their duties by carrying out evaluations every three months.

"This acting governor's steps are very strategic and follow the needs of the community. But, remember, this also requires the role of all regional apparatus and residents. Thus, there must be a planned and integrated solution," he explained.

Then DPRD Commission B Member, Manuara Siahaan hoped that the integration of transportation modes and fares could work well and be further refined. Moreover, the legal protection is adequate.

"I appreciate him for synchronizing between transportation modes, thus the transportation master plan system in Jakarta can be better and congestion can be minimized," he closed.
