PAM Jaya Focuses on Improving Clean Water Service Coverage by 2023

The Jakarta-owned tap water company PAM Jaya is about to focus on increasing full coverage of clean water services in 2023, which aims to achieve the target of 100 percent service coverage by 2030.

PAM Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin said that PAM JAYA's service coverage is currently 65.85 percent with 913,913 customers, production capacity reaches 20,082 liters per second, pipe long reaches12,075 kilometers, and RW level reaches 46.47 percent.

To meet service coverage in 2030, his party proposed a draft bylaw investment (PMD) in 2023 amounting to Rp 324.6 billion.

"To accelerate the increase in service coverage to 100 percent, support from all parties is needed in the implementation of SPAM in Jakarta," he expressed, Friday (11/4).

According to him, the PMD amounting to Rp 324.6 billion was intended for the construction of the Ciliwung Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) phase II, the installation of new connections for Jatiluhur Karian customers for phase I, studies, and the phase I NRW reduction program.

Then the optimization of the Seribu Islands SWRO IPA, construction of water kiosks and the purchase of tank cars for phase 3, clean water services in priority villages for phase 2, and construction of service centers.

"The important thing is we focus on the transition period (termination) of cooperation with private partners, PALYJA, and AETRA. So, we are mandated to accelerate the provision of clean water for the community," he concluded.

Aside that, his party was mandated to build drinking water supply systems (SPAM) in Pesangrahan and Ciliwung, as well as drinking and clean water service centers which would later become an integrated unit of all PAM Jaya's business coverage in Jakarta.

"We will maximize all of these programs," he stated.
