Jakarta DPRD Approves 2023 APBD by Rp 83.78 Trillion

The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Plenary Meeting has set the Draft Bylaw to become Bylaw on the 2023 City Budget (APBD) amounting to Rp 83.781 trillion. Part of the 2023 APBD allocation is prioritized for dealing with floods, congestion, and food security.

"Priority budget allocation is to deal with floods, traffic jams, and food security in 2023. If there is a recession, the collaboration between the Governor and the DPRD will be very good, hopefully, for the next two years we can do a better job," expressed Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, Tuesday (11/29).

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono expressed his gratitude and high appreciation to the leaders and members of the DPRD for their accuracy, thoroughness, and sincerity in examining and studying all the substance of the material for the Draft Bylaw on 2023 APBD.

"The executive will follow up on various suggestions, comments, and recommendations of the council submitted during the process of discussing, finalizing, and approving the 2023 APBD regulations," he explained.

He continued that the flood handling that has been running routinely includes mud raids spread across five areas of the city. "As well as making straws like what will be done at a location in East Jakarta," he continued.

Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) Head, Michael Rolandi Cesnanta Brata uttered that the three priority programs in the draft Jakarta APBD had been set to receive a budget allocation by 41.27 percent.

"The budget allocation for flood control is more than Rp 10 trillion, congestion handling is Rp 14 trillion and economic development is Rp 10 trillion," he said.

He added that the Jakarta administration has a subsidized low-cost food distribution program that is financed through the food security budget.

"The administration will also continue other programs including the Jakarta Smart Card, Jakarta Elderly Card, and Disability Card, as well as school operational assistance. Education funding assistance to encourage the education sector to be even better in Jakarta," he stated.
