Trash in C. Jakarta Believed to Decrease, Agency Says

Central Jakarta Administration continues to clean the water canal as one efforts to prevent flood in the area. In a day, as many as 48 cubic meters of waste successfully transported.

We clean the trash on the water surface every day, so we sure the trash amount will decrease in near future

Head of Central Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-dept., Marsigit said, his side prepared 242 janitors to monitor 164 conduits (PHB) everyday.

"We transported as many as 6 cubic meters of waste from each sub-district, but, the amount usually raise on Monday around 9 to 10 cubic meters," said Marsigit.

Marsigit continued, the cleaning process has positive impact on a number of water pumps. The water pump can work optimally if the conduit is clean from the trash, so the machine will not damaged by trash clogging.

"We clean the trash on the water surface every day, so we surr the trash amount will decrease in near future," he added.

His side, Marsigit continued, also asks the citizen not throw the trash into river, because it can pollute the environment.
