Abdul Latif Connecting Channel on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 1 Dredged

The Abdul Latif Connecting Channel on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 1, RW 06, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta keeps being accelerated.

Tanah Abang Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari said the dredging work has been ongoing since February 10, 2023. The connecting channel itself has a length of 150 meters with a width and height of 120 centimeters.

"The progress so far has touched 30 percent and it is predicted to be completed on February 23, 2023," she expressed, Wednesday (2/15).

According to her, it is conducted to follow up on residents' reports.

"We have collected around 12,6 cubic meters of mud so far," he added.

RW 06 Chairman, Karet Tengsin, Zulharman Djusman appreciated the SDA Task Force personnel who had responded quickly to residents' complaints.

"We asked for dredging work and it is done very quickly," he said.

He hoped that the channel dredging would reduce inundation in his area when it rains.

"Hopefully, it can accommodate rainwater and can minimize inundation optimally," he hoped.
