Betonisasi Seluruh Jalan Butuh Biaya Tinggi

High Cost, Concrete Layer Not Applied Throughout the Road

Jakarta Bina Marga Department Head, Yusmada revealed the entire road in the capital will not be concreted. Besides spending a lot of money, it also takes a long time.

There is no concrete layer plan, but we have to solve the puddle problem first

"There is no concrete layer plan, but we have to solve the puddle problem first," said Yusmada, Thursday (2/19).

He disclosed, the thing that should be done is to dredge the drains that installed alongside the road. By so, the water could flow smoothly in the rainy season.

100 Damaged Roads in North Jakarta will Be Concreted

According to him, his department is not focused on road elevation project, but patch up potholes routinely. Thus far, at least 700 potholes left by flood have begun to be patched.

"We have no plan to elevate the roads, but just build roads with solid construction. If the roads are inundated, the water must be sucked up first," he expressed.

He stressed indeed, the concrete layer method is strengthening the road structure. But it cannot be applied on all the roads.

"This method is a waterproof. But will the entire road concreted? Just so you know, it takes a long time. So, we do what we can do now," he explained.

As known, at the beginning of last week, as many as 107 roads were flooded and caused potholes. To repair them, Rp 250 billion had been allocated in which each area received Rp 40 billion. While the remaining Rp 50 billion to repair the Transjakarta bus lanes.
