Satpol PP Intensifies Liquor Crackdown on Harapan Island

The Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) launched the raids against liquor and expired food and drink products in two stalls on Harapan Island.

North Seribu Islands Satpol PP Head, Edi Syahrudi said the raid was carried out to ensure there was no sale of alcohol, firecrackers, and distribution of expired food and drink.

"We want to provide protection and a sense of security to the community," he expressed, Tuesday (4/4).

Based on the inspection, his party did not find circulation of alcohol and food or drinks that had expired or had damaged packaging

"We deployed 10 personnel. Today, we checked only two stalls and the results were zero. We will continue this activity on other islands," he added.

Hamdan (52), a resident of RW 01 Pulau Harapan and the stall owner admitted that he does not sell alcohol and always separates damaged or near expiration dates to return them to distributors.

"Thus far, my product condition has always been safe. Because if a product is damaged or expired, I will immediately complain and return it to the distributor," he stressed.
