Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono became Inspector of the 2023 Regional Autonomy Day Commemoration Ceremony (Irup) with the theme "Advanced Regional Autonomy, Excellent Indonesia", at Plaza Selatan Monas, Central Jakarta, Saturday (4/29).

"The commemoration of regional autonomy day is a moment of reflection to understand the importance of just and democratic governance of a nation that has a diversity of ethnicities, cultures, languages, and customs," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's release, Saturday (4/29).
According to him, with the enactment of Law Number 3/2022 on State Capital, Jakarta is faced with changing the status of the capital city which will provide challenges and opportunities to revitalize and develop a better city.

He asserted regional autonomy in Jakarta must be endeavored to have a significant impact on development and governance, including: improving the quality of public services, increasing community participation, as well as being autonomous in regulating taxes and fees to finance various development activities.
"The future of Jakarta as a global city will develop better than today with support and innovation from all elements of Jakarta society, especially Jakarta ASN who must try to be more professional, competent, and able to work collaboratively," he explained.
He went on to say that the purpose of regional autonomy is actually to give authority to the regions to manage their own potential independently, according to their respective needs and characteristics.
"Following up on the direction of the President regarding controlling inflation in 2023, I asked the Task Force for the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) to maintain supply availability, affordability of food prices, people's purchasing power, and support smooth distribution and economic stability," he continued.
To increase economic recovery and the use of domestic products, he ensured that the program for Increasing Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) must continue to be echoed sustainably. Jakarta has achieved the highest realization of P3DN at the national level by Rp 20.45 trillion and all levels of the Jakarta Government are continuing to strive to maintain this achievement.
"In line with the Government's target of reducing the stunting rate to 17 percent nationally in 2023, we must strive for a comprehensive and sustainable management of stunting through coordination and synergy with all levels of Forkopimda," he added.
