Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono officially made a Task Force for Building and Non-building Assessment for Reducing the Risk of Jakarta Earthquake Disaster, Tuesday (5/30).

"With the Building and Non-Building Assessment Task Force, hope we can jointly reduce the risk of earthquakes to ensure business continuity, minimize casualties, infrastructure losses, and disruption to community service activities," he expressed, at Greal Hall, Jakarta City Hall.
BPBD Reminds Landslide Potential in South Jakarta and East JakartaHe explained the task force has duties ranging from monitoring the reliability of buildings and non-buildings in Jakarta in facing the threat of an earthquake, providing recommendations on the results of building inspections, to carrying out intensive coordination with related agencies to provide advice and input on inspection results.
This assessment would later be integrated into a system called SIDUGATAMI (Earthquake Resilient Building System).
"This task force is a real joint effort in realizing Jakarta as a Disaster Resilient City, a sustainable and resilient city and this is Jakarta's criteria for entering the global city," he explained.
Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head, Isnawa Adji said that geographically, Jakarta has the characteristics of soft soil and is surrounded by several earthquake sources, so integrated mitigation is needed from an early age in a bid to reduce the risk of earthquake disasters.
This integrated task force consists of a combination of pentahelix elements from the Central Government, Jakarta Government, and community organizations. In the early stages the inspection will be carried out at City Hall Building and Saidah Tower located in South Jakarta.
Then the results of the inspection will be submitted to the building owner in the form of recommendations on matters that need to be considered and executed in the future.
"For the next stage, inspections will be conducted twice a month targeting public facilities and public facilities, namely Kramat Jati Market, Kalibata City Apartment, Koja Hospital, and SMAN 99 Jakarta," he uttered.
As for the information, the central government elements involved in this task force consist of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
Then the Jakarta Government OPD, namely BPBD; Fire and Rescue Agency (Disgulkarmat); as well as Cipta Karya, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs Office (DKCTRP).
As for the community organizations consist of Disaster Risk Reduction Forum and Jakarta Rescue, Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (APAD) Indonesia, and Tarumanagara University.
As for additional information, the task force will collaborate with the Fire and Rescue Agency to conduct an assessment of fire safety in buildings by examining several aspects such as active and passive fire protection systems, life-saving facilities, access to fire extinguishers, and Building Fire Safety Management (MKKG).
