DPRD-Ahok Mediation Ends in Deadlock

The mediation that held in the Home Ministry's office between Jakarta Provincial Govenment and Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD), Thursday (3/5), was deadlocked. Even, Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama and officials left the room before the meeting was officially closed.

City Secretary, Saefullah admitted both parties must await the Home Ministry's decision related to the consent of 2015 City Budget (APBD).
"The mediation is deadlocked, we're still waiting for the ministry's decision," he stated, on Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Thursday (3/5).

After the approval letter is issued, the draft budget will be returned to Jakarta government to be discussed with the legislative’s budgetary board (Banggar). "We just need to wait for the ministry's decision," he asserted.
Saefullah mentions, there are two options on the polemic of 2015 budget. First, if both parties agree, the 2015 budget bylaw will be issued. Yet, if there is no agreement, the ministry's agreement will be asked for the use of the previous year's budget. Such decision can be taken at the latest on March 24.
"As for the programs, will be discussed internally with a total budget of Rp 72.9 trillion. It could be adapted from 2015 budget's system," he explained.
He furthered that some programs will be eliminated as there is a difference in value by Rp 1 trillion. But thus far, those programs have not been outlined. "It will be discussed as soon as possible," he disclosed.
