This Week, Marunda Bridge Repairs Completed

The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency is carrying out repairs to the Marunda Bridge on the Marunda Access Road, Cilincing Sub-district, North Jakarta.

Part of the concrete slab or bridge floor plate is damaged

It is targeted that the repair work on the bridge connecting traffic from east to west of the road will be completed this week.

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency's data and information Center Head, Wiwik Wahyuni explained the repair has been ongoing since Monday (6/19).

"Part of the concrete slab or bridge floor plate is damaged. There are six broken segments," he said, Wednesday (6/21).

Of the six damaged segments, the first stage of repairs included three parts of the bridge slab which were badly damaged. Technically, the repair work begins with the dismantling of the bridge floor. Then the work will continue with the ironing stage and casting.

"To conduct it, two teams of PJLPs plus one heavy heavy equipment have been deployed to the location," he expressed.

It will take five days and be completed this week. While the opening of traffic at the location would be carried out in stages according to the implementation of the repair.

"In parallel, we carry out a thorough inspection of the bridge slab, including we will see the construction part," he stated.
